Closing this Chapter
We’ve been back in the states for just over a month and decided to write one final post before closing this chapter of our lives. I started my new job about a month ago and it has given us a great opportunity to spend an extended amount of time on the east coast. I am working remotely for the most part, so we are using this time to see as much family as possibly before heading west. Nicole has been busy taking an online class about teaching kids who are learning English as a second language.
We’ve been bouncing back and forth between Lyons and Rochester and plan to do so for another six weeks. We got to see the Leo girls one weekend, paid Aunt Nancy and Uncle Murli a quick visit, saw the Blaisdell gang, and got the unexpected opportunity to head up to Maine for Memorial Day weekend to open up the cabin. Our fantastic Uncle Lee and Aunt Maryann took care of us for the weekend and suffered through our travel stories. We left Maine early on the Sunday before Memorial Day to spend the afternoon in Lyons. We picked up six lobsters for the feast. It was our first time transporting live lobsters and went quite smoothly.
The transition back to reality has been a bit rough on both of us, but it has been absolutely fantastic to spend so much time with our families after being gone for so long. The last year has been more than we could have ever imagined; everything from the wedding, the trip, to this time with our family has been incredible. The trip has made us more thankful than ever to have such support in our lives. We would be nowhere without the support of our family and we love them more everyday. We are moving on to the next part of lives and starting to plan our next adventure!
